Who makes the best plastic armor? ( just curious )

I was just wondering what opinions are on who the best plastic armor is coming from. This is not supposed to be a debate over plastic vs. metal. More of a survey of the positive qualities of the better plastic armors available... So please do not turn this into a rant against plastic armor. I'd have...

Re: Making a leather 'chisel' to cut slots....

Your Excellency - would you use a dull wood chisel ? Leather dulls edges at a depressing rate. Dull edges produce tears, not cuts. Torn leather isn't a happy thing. Seriously, I just use a wood chisel of an appropriate size. If I were going to make one, I would hot work to form the general shape, g...

Making a leather 'chisel' to cut slots....

I want to make a 'chisel' for cutting lacing holes in leather for pouches.... If I work the metal cold would I still need to harden and temper it if the only thing its going to be used for is cutting small slots in thin leather? Or would be be easier to work it hot and not even bother tempering and ...

The part that's laced together with leather lace, rather than stitched together with thread - it's supposed to be leather lace. That's what they used for that join near the top that forms the belt loop(s). So, if that's the place you're looking for a substitute material to use instead of the leathe...

Conal's 14th Century Kidney Pouch Project
