Re: Ebay tool search: opinions needed, please
I'm in no rush to get it, I have no project waiting on it.... So far I'm just bidding my max right from the start and if I do not get it I just wait for the search function to turn up the next one and go again.... ( that worked for the draw knife ) I'm just wondering if I have picked too low a max b...

Ebay tool search: opinions needed, please
I'm watching Ebay for a bowl making adze. I picked up a folding draw knife as my last tool purchase and managed to get a nice one under my bid limit of $25 without it taking too long. Am I expecting too much to do the same for the adze or is it just a matter of time? Tthis is the kind of adze I'm lo...

sources for brass buckles for armor? (14 cen )

Designs for list poles?
I'm starting to think about suggesting a Baronial project.... New list poles. Anyone have a favorite design? Or just photos showing nice ones? They need to be portable and break down easily for storage Inexpensive ( in comparison to the end result ) would be nice Being able to pack them into a compa...

Thanks for the advice guys.
I put this here thinking that it might get some opinions from guys that may not look at OT
and because it was shop oriented in a way.... sorry if that was not kosher.

I'm guessing someone here might have an opinion or two on modern footwear for the shop I'm getting sick of quickly wearing out inexpensive work shoes and boots, but I really didn't want to lay down the cash for a pair of Redwings.... I do not have to wear steel toes and I have never worn a pair I th...

Re: Medival style rolling pin.
Because I really don't know... Is there anything that specifically makes this a "medieval" rolling pin? I've seen "French" rolling pins that simply had tapered ends, but I have no idea if that is really a French style, or just marketing. I've read that a lot of "French"...

bump
I think I've replied to all the questions....
just a reminder..... pricing info I give out is based on the costs of wood at the time I give the quote. If the price changes I'll have to adjust the quoted price.
that said I would be surprised by any massive changes right now.

New option for glastonbury chairs
I prototyped an idea that I had and everything worked just like I hoped it would. I can now offer a less expensive choice for my Glastonbury style chairs. Yellow pine. Hard southern yellow pine is not the same wood you find as 2x4's or the 3/4" thick pine boards you get at Home Depot or Lowes. ...
