My statement "no better than" would probably have been better stated "no different than" Maryland. There was no intention to imply "worth". I live and work with people with both northern and southern attitudes and upbringings every day of my life. Only that areas once c...

I've never bought the conical, but I have bought the normal SS helm halves, and the SS two piece breast and back set.

Obviously there is a lot of work finishing the items, but I was very satisfied and it saved me a lot of time.

Recent Ebay Find #2 Stainless Welded Mail (large pics)

I've been looking to add "voiders" to my 15th century arming garment. While admitedly it is not historically accurate, I've been considering stainless steel welded mail. Light weight, strength, and its low maintenance are a big plus for me. Yes its stainless, but the rest of the armor (whi...

Recent Ebay Find #1 Easy Armour Stand (large pics)

Like many of you, I've been trying to find a way to store my armour, that doesn't include an old duffel bag in the back of my car. So I started to look around for an armour stand. Sure, you can order very nice hand made historic models. But the cost and the production time/ time to delivery can be v...

And to think that MD was historically a "Southern" state. For those who doubt, consider where the Mason Dixon line is. During the Civil War, Lincoln had to station large numbers of Federal troops too keep the state from sucession, which would have made DC untenable as a capitol. Now MD is ...

While its not historic, if your using them for SCA events and such, you can use nylon web strapping available at most fabric stores, instead of leather. I prefer 1" or 1.5" wide black strap. Its very tough, doesnt' rot, invisible to the eye (being on the inside of the armor) and collapses ...

These lances hit A LOT harder than IJA style 3' balsa tip lances and there are a great many more unhorsings due to this (funny thing, a great number of unhorsings occur when a lance does not break, building up a huge amount of potential energy that is transferred back into the knight that is using ...
