If you can get your hands on a printed catalog, Tandy has ideas on how to look at the designs broken down into geometric shapes far better t han I could possibly describe. The main thing to look at this in this design is the black lines, the octagonal or circular bits are formed by the outline tool ...

Aaron, This is always a good question...I was told that most cannot define it, but they can show you. I have only had one weapon bounced and it was a D. Sebastian style split polearm. The problem was not the head, but the fact that the rattan was way too whippy afterward. My bad skill finding bad ra...

How about using the greave as a mold and using RTV silicone to make an inside mold. Definitely will not be cheap, but it will be exact.

I have a couple. Armourer Eric... When I first got interested, Eric had some things posted on ebay and after negotiating with milady, I ordered legs, arms and bascinet form him. All pieces were made to size and I had them in two weeks. Legs are bulletproof, but due to them being so well made, I had ...

this is alittle off the topic, but is there an easy way to pick up road signs for cheap or free? just go to VDOT and ask for signs that are no longer needed? Well, my suggestion is to ask your local municipality highway department, and see what they do with signs that are damaged or got updated to ...

There a load of web sites out there that do a great job explaining the complete process. I am way to impatient (at this point) to do rivetted, but I do plan on at least making an aventail.

Lamellar question...preference?
I know we kicked this around a long while ago, but I am considering building a lamellar cuirrass. I am not sure if I want to go aluminum or stainless. Titanium is out of the budget.
Of the lamellar wearers....what is your preference?
I am not considering plastic however...

another probelm with working in Sigh aluminum is that the stickers are a pain in the ass to remove. I have not found an easy way yeat to remove them that does not take a lot of time and takes a bit of wear on the tools. many people will sugest taking a heat gun or torch to blister off the paint but...

I think Sean hit pretty much of it on the head. When I form aluminum road sign material, I do it the low tech way. I heat it in or my gas grille. I bring the temperature up to around 500 degrees and keep it there for around 10-15 minutes, then quick quench it with a hose or a 5 gallon bucket of wate...

Edward, I have had pretty decent luck with my horrible fright throatless shear. After I reground the blades because they chipped, all was well. The heat treating they do (?) on the blades is spotty at best. They chip or dull depending on where it is at on the blade. In all honesty, the first chip wa...

Make sure that if you elevate the piping that you put a drain in the pipe at the low spots, that way water will not accumulate in the low spots. Also, if you plan on painting with the air set up, make sure you have a dedicated line that never uses oil, it wil ruin your paint job. I have a regulator ...
