Does Thorvald go to all the practices? He makes custom knives and I think he does armor also. I think he may be able to give you a hand. Angus on here is in Mifflinburg, not sure that is Nithgaard or not. There are a few others that frequent this board from the area. I am about 2 hours south, just s...

Just a few basic questions: Is there anyone around you who does armoring or has the necessary tools to loan you, or a shop you could use with their assistance? I know in my area, if I have any questions I can find someone who knows the answer or is willing to give me a hand. I have been contemplatin...

I think they are great work. It showcases a great ability. A while back, House of the Wolf did a set of a complete set of arms (?). The pattern was very much like the surviving piece... I wish I had more information but since searching is verboten, I have no other data. The pattern is beautiful, and...

Is that his/her archive name? Does he/she have a website I should go to? Anyone else have any ideas. Thanks for the quick reply Audax gmandragora is his archive name. In addition to matuls, steel-mastery has them off the rack. Revival has one as well but I think it is more suited to 14th century ki...

I want pics of that.
Are you sure?
Did you get an answer yet???

For Roman shoes...check out the Roman Army Talk BB...you have to register to get on th emarketplace but there are a few vendors that will make the shoes you desire... Or: You can do them yourself: m If it were me, I would try and get the padding under the tunic, or smaller around the shoulders. Just...

Louis, the reason I said about Pennsic is I can't fit it in my budget right now, so for post season or next year works for me. So ther eis no rush on you either. We have a mundane 10 x 12 tent now that I have to talk her out of. That tent is just for us...Our kids don't/won't do this (late teenagers...

I think someone a while back covered their rattan with wood grained contact paper. Sounded interesting, not sure how durable it is though. I covered most of the shaft of my fiberglass spear with brown duct tape. It look a little better than a bright red fiberglass shaft, and protects it from UV dama...

Other than making one on your own (see Legio XX website)
here are two I found that may be more authentic. I am not a Greek shield expert, just what I have read on line:

Stickers are an unfortunate evil. Melee in the SCA is even more of a sport than singles fighting. At least guys aren't out there in numbers and jerseys, although most versions of tabards and household and Kingdom colors make fighters look that way. Kind of funny actually how much the modern footbal...

O.k., I am interested depending on price. You answered my questions very well! Now, before I can say yes, it is time to run it by my bookkeeper and sharer of the yurt...If I can sell that to her, then half the battle is done. You are not looking at these prior to Pennsic are you? Akron isn't that su...

I agree with Tlast on the size and pitch. It looks more natural. What does one this size weigh, and how small does all the pieces pack up? I have seen the websites on how some people pack them, but I wanted it straight from a guy who uses one. Especially one I hold in high regard here. I am investig...

Not to derail this thread but I was at the local Wally World (WalMart)yesterday, and I saw some very spherical dumbells that were rubberized foam covered. They were not like the half sphere on showed on here, they were more like double ended ball stakes. They were in sizes from 1 lb to 8 lb. Unfortu...
