Re: Revival boots?
I have the same as mordreth. I tried them on at Pennsic two years ago. I went through several pairs of ankle boots before I found 1 pair that fit just right. And having add calf/ankles, etc, pretty much shied me away from buying anything higher.

Re: WTB AT Pennsic, t-tunic to fit 1X-2X
There are many merchants at Pennsic.... If you are looking at Budget minded tunics, there is one on the merchant road near the battle field (usually near Bokolo's armor) Neverland Designs(garb) she has all sizes in cotton or linen. I also heard Adric (linen garb) should be there, not sure where. Hig...

Re: What should be in an armouring book for newbies?
I think understanding what they are looking at (eye) and how to get it to look like what they are making would be good. I know when I have helped new people I spent a lot of time on how to dish properly and how to planish things with out creasing or scarring the piece too badly. How to modify tools,...

If you can get a log (stump) the more you hammer into it, the deeper the depressions will get. Ir you could use a cut off RR tie (think landscaping timber), or a couple of 2x8's or 2x 10s that are glued together or secured together just use the end grain...

Re: What aluminum alloy / thickness for shield baskets and c
I have used road sign aluminum for both. What I do is heat them on an old gas grill for about 30 minutes at high, take them off the grille and then quench them with a hose. It softens them a little, at least enough to be able to dish them. They work harden pretty fast, so I use a heavy hammer and wo...

I have an Ashcraft Baker "starter" helm, basket hilt and a shield basket. I started in them and loan them out. They have been around for over 6 years and are still very durable. I bought them because I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue fighting or I would lose interest, or whatever... Anyw...

Re: question about harbor freight tools
I received an air planishing hammer and a shear as gifts years ago. I think it has been around 5 years or so. I had to rebuild the hammer as the frame was just a bit off and replaced the air hammer with a better one. Other than that, pretty good for what my wife paid for it. Like Eric, it was bought...

Re: Edit: bought HF shear, initial review
I have had my HF shear for about three years now. Blades needed reground after about a year of mild use, and a friend reheat treated them for me. The other problems it had were the crappy lateral adjusting screws for the blade, I replaced them. One word of caution though: the body of the shear is ve...

I think small claims is your best bet; from my experience.
I had a maunche do a similar think to the tune of around $400 (clothing). I contacted her laurel and she shamed her enough to get the money back to me. Had she not paid, I would have started legal proceedings.
