I have to agree about the Thompson's. I sprayed a ACW wedge tent one spring for summer. It stunk to high heaven all summer and still leaked. Sold the tent to a newbie and bought a new one.

I believe he is still selling on ebay, but under a different name. Rarely is it armour though. I have only had one dealing with him on ebay. Other than shipping taking longer than normal, I got my item and it was as described.

When I anneal stret signs to be able to bend them I heat them in an old propane grille that the top cover comes off. Andy at Fall creek will always take good crae of you. He is the only recommended tent seller our unit uses. I have had one of his ACW Wedge tents for over 15 years, and although a little soiled, it still performs like new.

In case anyone is interested:

I have found spray on tool grip at the big box stores (Lowes, Home Depot) and harbor freight....at the first two it is in the paint section. At HF, you probably will have to ask, it is never in teh sam eplace twice in the local store.

I used a utility hide for my COP with plastic plates 3 years ago. It was 3-4 oz thick and oil tanned.
