Finger gauntlets that ground out on the weapon are a waste of money. You get the same protection in a mitten gauntlet AND none of the drawback of fighting with duck hands.

Icefalcon and Anshelm have some excellent offerings that are far superior to others I've seen.

I hope, with all hope that if found worthy, to be allowed to fight alongside His Grace Darius. There is a tale of why, but he inspired me with one act of honour and of the glory of the test of arms and I would like to repay him for it with my sword once by his side instead of in front of him. I am contacting the people who have expressed interest. Fun.

Because of what the two monarchs have done, I will do all I can to attend this war.
The chance to fight alongside many of the people I enjoy fighting from the east is NOT to be missed!

One battle I want to fight alongside HG Darius. That would make my entire war.

I used to have a serious problem with lefties. I recommend that you find the best ones you can and fight them. Learn. Do not give up.

Eventually, you will not have a problem with them.

Not much less than SCA. The SCA is no more fighting than the fighting I have seen in other "fun" combat groups.

I have no need to acclimate to full or different body target. I only switch off the area not needed for the particular venue. I think I would enjoy the ability to kick people and throw them down again since it's not allowed in the SCA. I am very far from an SCAcentric fighter, and probably would not...

My hidden armor is a maille hauberk and breastplate. It's hidden under a fancy heraldic jupon.

That is what I suggest.

For early period, I would suggest a maille haubergeon hidden under a leather jerkin or wool tunic.

All of them are allowed to wear white belts and style themselves as knights so this can be kind of confusing when looking at it as an outsider.. Out of curiosity, I was under the impression that the "white belt" thing was an SCA thing. I've never seen a historical finding and basis for it...

Having a kit. I haven't had a complete kit of my own since selling my 14th C one. My plan for 2009 is having a complete kit of my own again AND-
Making sure it is what they would have worn, and not some hidden, covered, plastic, scamalgamination of pseudo-armor.
