Japanese Armor- Arms

Black Laquered Kote. Worn once, not in combat. Must be worn over low profile elbow to pass SCA inspection. Not attached to the cloth bits. Cost 169.00 from the Japanese re-enacting site. Need $ for horse burial costs. My loss is some Budo's gain. $95.00+shipping. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...

Oh, this isn't SCA! My apologies. For fighting a taller opponent I suggest using thier height and higher center of gravity against them. A few things that can achieve this goal are- A. When in a bind, strike the inside or outside of the knee with your free forward foot. Follow this up with attacks a...

If you learn to block the "scorpion warp" tall fighters become a lot less trouble. Hit them in the armpit a couple times it's a lot of fun. Learn to draw them towards you with your hips. Most tall fighters love to throw the overhead wrap as a lead shot. Most will lean towards you to do it ...

Put a Icefalcon aventaille on it and did it up so you can't see the bars.

WMA...I cry when I think I won't get to complete my harness....

14th C and 15th C stirrups

I want to get a pair of stirrups for my show. Anyone have any good pics or research on the stirrups of the 14th and 15th C? I have a couple examples of a 1475ish pair, and some pics, but want to get some good material before I ask someone to replicate them.

Thanks!

Why was it so good?

What joust group? Freelance. I really don't/didn't belong to a group. It was the company Brothers In Arms that did this show, and my cousin brought me out because they were short of a guy due to injury. I filled in for someone who took a fall in Mass a couple weeks back. I must have done well, as t...

When you are done with the surgeries and all healed up I'll meet you half-way at our training facility in Ohio. You can give it a try at the lower level and see if you want to try it with the real lances.

I know you have armor! So.....

Got him right in the sweet spot of slightly to the left side dead center mass. Off he went!

At the beggining of the show the knights ride out with banners and make passes at a lope. Then they take their vows before the "king" with thier banners. Now, this is pretty tough stuff for cloth, as there is wood, steel and sand all over the place and it is possible that these will be rai...

Old Bear/Valerius- Help?

Hail! I have a pair of your leg armor (one of your early pairs) that I managed to aquire a while back that I use for jousting now. My wife was using them for SCA, and she had cut the support rivets for the attachement of the greaves to the cuisses. Now, that is great for SCA fighting, but a bummer f...
