We might end up seeing fixed encampments as a cost-effective alternative. It's a farm most of the year but the "period-looking" cabins would save on driving costs, etc... I am building this on my 15 acres right now. Two jousting lists, archery range, thrown weapons, parking, camping, a 5 ...

No need to mention the shoes. I'd choose red. longer boots is an option, look better than the swaet pants ring at the bottom. Something you are wearing is making the armor look "wrong". The silhouette is "off". Maille chausses. They complete the open back leg. Sollerets for the f...

Zyg, in all the times we fight, you take some shots you should not. Remember last time we fought you took two shots I told you did not feel "up to snuff" on my end. You have no calibration issues. End of story.

Do you think it's possible for somoene to '"shrink" these down to kids size? these would be awesome for our households kids boffer group, and has the look and would be cheap to make out of scrap leather and metal.

Everybody has a wacky hobby. We stand around and hit each other with sticks. To each his own. Everyone should read this again. Because of the large amount of cross over that has grown over the last five or so years it is very hard to listen to one group bash the other. And, if you stand up for one,...

I've been oogling this site for a few months.

I use it as a "what do I need to make/do/get to get as great as these guys look.

You can tell this isn't in the states. No one would insure them, and they have been lawsuited into unexistence by now.

These guys do some wicked dangerous shit. Stuff that most SCA folks would tear their hair out about.

All my efforts, and I still can't get the look these guys have. I'm glad I have the web-site, it lets me know how I need to make the back 10 acres look when I'm done.

I was just curious as I've been hit in the cup a bit lately since I went to the tiny buckler. Different weapons too. I never thought it was illegal or so, just part of the game. Tagetting it on purpose I consider rude, but never thought it was illegal.

I did that style of jousting for 8 years. Luke nails the reason dead on. All we did was go to the local big box hardware store between faire weekends and buy up all the 10 foot pine closet rods. Add the copper cap at the end and you have one awesome springboard. Back in the 90's we had three shows a...

This was a great class. If you missed it this week, show up next week and join the fun! Gas cut me out of it. Living in the country is great, but not so much with 3.40 a gallon gas and every thing is a minimum hour + away. You still want that washer and dryer from my old place for your new place?
