Gosh I love you Jeff and Gwen. I am so inspired now about tilting I want to go out to MRF next weekend on my horse and challenge the jousters there!

The "List" is the field upon which the combat occurs, the "Tilt" is the fence separating the riders. Any other interpretation is a modern inaccuracy. They are often confused. Look it up in a primary source or in a reliable secondary source and you'll see what I mean. Jeff is right. I've done a lot ...

Gwen, I can only say I learned from the best. Our first SCA event was Pennsic, and we all found you and Jeff and HE. We went from LARP fanatics shopping at Pennsic to be elves and wizards at teh LARP at home, to joining the SCA and trying to portray a historical company of 1401. If we didn't buy you...

Man Leo not only are you purty - apparently you have ridden in some of the same lists with the same peeps as me... Yep. After three days of jousting training I got to go live in Texas. I was hooked after that. Roy was quite possibly the best boss I had ever had. I'm glad things went well for him an...

That said, don't let one person's negative comments dissuade you from participating in SCA Equestrian. I'm finding that it isn't the negative comments about horse size. Most SCA EQ folks I've met don't care about the horse size. It seems to an outsider (and former professional jouster) that the rul...

You know, my retainer looks like a Klingon Warship! Fire Photon torpedos! Pew, pew! This is dang funny! I was talking to Steve Dean about knights tale, and were with a bunch of people bashing it for the modern music, clothes and everything. We were trying to explain to them that the movie was mostl...

"if you build it, they will come". that's some dang good advice Gwen! And, Steve can come by any time, he was supposed to contact me after Pennsic, but it's in that post-Pennsic slowdown here in MI, and things drop off for a couple of months usually. My ponies are push button for the most part. One...

I am also interested in learning how other groups do their jousting, and would love to be able to joust against somebody other than my wife!?.. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I keep trying to break into SCA equestrain, but we don't have a horse trailer, and we are at the mercy of other SCA equestrain...

Wheelock needs new home
I'd like to sell a German style Wheelock pistol I purchased for use when I was a jouster, and it's been a wall ornament ever since. I purchased it from Syke's Sutlery and paid 650 for it many years ago (95 I think). It has been shot a lot (just powder, never a ball), but still looks good and shoots....
