I'm just amazed that they are grappling and using rebated weapons, and are attacking from behind and they haven't exploded!

Jason, are you going to have Steve and Tim join you for those? Let me know if you need any help, I might be able to get away and help out. Yep....Steve, Tim and the other guy Jeff. We could use the help that is for sure. I have a competent ground crew up here too that we use, several members of my ...

If it is done correctly I disagree, when I smack a local bully down, I do it by the rules and not to injure but to show the fighter that such behavior will not be tolerated and this works pretty well. Duke Ronald Yes, but is this not just "a fight"? Getting someone to just "beat some...

Meh. No SCA fight to me is worth "beating someone down". It would be like two collegiate fencers having a throwdown. There is even less honor in being the person giving the beat down. By accepting the task, you have agreed to throw your honour to the winds and willingly break the rules of ...

It seems to me the answer going forward will depend on the venues we have for balsa jousting. I believe I asked earlier, if not, I'm asking now, who is interested in taking point on getting balsa going in a given area? I volunteer to do whatever I can to get jousting going in the Middle. I also hav...

Is it the hauberk with long sleeves or the habergeon short sleeve version?

The description listed says short sleeve (the one for 495? ), but the price listed as the selling price new is the one for the long sleeve one ($650 ).

If it is the long sleeve one for that price, 2nd dibs.

If you are doing a deed where someone thinks your ransom is "cheap" you are doing the deed with the wrong people.

I'd have been happy as a clam to get good drink for a ransom. The best ones I've gotten are ones I could share with my lady.

The one thing I really hate about Pennsic WAR is that people willingly and obviously ignore opponents.

Not paying attention, you gets what's you deserve. I bet people will look at this guy like they look at combat archers. Same basic issue at the core.

I have two options- At practice, I wear a pair of sweats. Fast, easy and cheap when the armor tears them all up. At events I wear a pair of custom chausses and breais, that have the breaies affixed to the chausses so they don't gap and fall. They also have a stirrup, because I always get a hole in t...
