I will be doing the "training list" myself.

Mostly because I want to fight people interested in "outside the box" SCA fighting. Using period techniques, and other rules such as as armored, or thrusting to valid kill area only.

Or so I'd like to.

Yep, if it is the wrong size he will exchange it. I got the XL hauberk (I'm a size 48) and it fit awesome. Got the XL chausses and they were way big, and he took them back and is getting me the Reg size. No problems at all.

Pennsic vs. a week at a resort in Mexico with your wife. Granted - Missing Pennsic sucks, but I think you just need to delete this post and struggle through the pain of relaxing on a beach and drinking beer for a week. We'll take up a collection to hire someone some anonymous stranger to shoot you ...

People will not listen. It's funny how so many people get bummed about a completely disguised coat of epoxy while they will have all types of modern details or modern materials in use for their other gear- and I'm talking about NON SCAdians, here. You can't get anything more well-disguised than one...

My advice to you is not to push the issue of "loss of PC". That is far too larpy a concept. Most SCA persona's aren't really persona's, but a thin sheet of canvas to cover a person's involvement in the SCA. However, I think battles with true consequence are cool. And on this point I will v...

Imagine when you are on the SCA battle field that for every person you see in a full steel helmet that there are twenty there in mail coifs, cuir-boilli caps, wat hats etc. Imagine a field where the guys in full limb armour were a sizable minority. And, as those whom I emulate did, I look for the w...

I wonder what wonderous and incredibly awesome armor somoene would have to possess to say that the above harness looks stupid.

Perhaps the person just hates 14th C armor...only thing I can think of!

I like battles where there are real winning and losings. It makes the experience of what it was like to be a medieval soldier that much more understandable. How about we all agree that BOTH activities can be fun, and drop all the rest of the whiney crap? . This. Not many WMA groups do full force combat and some that do don't stick to the materials they study but it is also a newish and growing hobby that will pick up with time. James, I have to say the...

Being a LARPer myself, I have to say.. when I wear armor, it's metal, and I've never seen anyone wearing a pizza box. The "pizza box" armor thing came from their website. Their stuff is pretty and generic "Renn Fest/LARP" stuff, but their descriptions are a little bit over the t...
