My respect for you just went up to eleventy. Truly well done. I've had the rage drop many times in my life. I think it will simply take a bit of time for it to wear off. PLaying with my animals or watching something funny on TV really seems to help though. Maybe a little play time with Monkey Girl w...

Audax, I'll want to get with you at some point to discuss greaves in person. Will you be at Jagermeister or Defender of the Fort or Three Queens?

Thanks,

Jaegermeister for sure and most likely Three Queens.

Hi Audax, How much for an entire leg rig with cuisses and greaves with some stainless cops from stonekeep on them? Do you have a c-belt design ready to go as well? I'm in the market for an entire leg system. These would be hidden but I'd want them to still look good enough if I did not hide them th...

Foam rubber crutch grips, I then add a core of open cell foam and a disk of leather glued to the end, cost runs about $5-6/pair. These also make great grips for sword hilts as they have a palm swell and taper to the endss(stack them for great sword) nice and cushioned but a no slip grip. I also use...

I appreciate all the replies. This CoP is based upon the Kussnach example that opens at the sides and consists of horizontal steel bands, rather than being a Visby type, so it's a little different. I had been sent some pictures of the instructions but those appear to have vanished into the aether. I...

KInd of depends on what the original word used was. Cuirass is often used generically by translators to mean "body armour". It could mean a cuirie, a pair of plates or could simply mean the hauberk. Another problem one runs into are terms that modern people simply don't have any reference ...

how to make a CoP shell

As the title says.

I have a Mad Matt CoP kit and I want to make the shell from leather. How do I measure for it, get the plates in there straight, etc, etc.

Any advice from people who've made their own CoPs would be awesome.

Probably a bit like fighting with a buckler only easier because it's so much bigger. In my experience, gauntlets need to be padded properly and cover the thumb and tips of the fingers to prevent pain and injury to the hands. The thumb should be connected to the gauntlet by a rivet or other hard connector, not a leather strap to prevent the thumb from being hyperextended. It is also ...
