My respect for you just went up to eleventy. Truly well done. I've had the rage drop many times in my life. I think it will simply take a bit of time for it to wear off. PLaying with my animals or watching something funny on TV really seems to help though. Maybe a little play time with Monkey Girl w...

Hi Audax, How much for an entire leg rig with cuisses and greaves with some stainless cops from stonekeep on them? Do you have a c-belt design ready to go as well? I'm in the market for an entire leg system. These would be hidden but I'd want them to still look good enough if I did not hide them th...

Foam rubber crutch grips, I then add a core of open cell foam and a disk of leather glued to the end, cost runs about $5-6/pair. These also make great grips for sword hilts as they have a palm swell and taper to the endss(stack them for great sword) nice and cushioned but a no slip grip. I also use...

Here is one of my coat of plates: m I have made perhaps 6-7 of them. I am getting ready to make another. Previously I have always made the Wisby #1, Type I coat of plates that fastens in the back. My next one will fasten at the side, to make it easier to put on and take off by myself. Basically, th...

I appreciate all the replies. This CoP is based upon the Kussnach example that opens at the sides and consists of horizontal steel bands, rather than being a Visby type, so it's a little different. I had been sent some pictures of the instructions but those appear to have vanished into the aether. I...

You've asked a really big question. Where is your persona from? When in the 14th is she from? Sideless surcotes, cotehardies, hoopelands, various types of gowns are all appropo depending on where, when, social class, marital status, etc. m is another place to shop for clothing but research will be y...

how to make a CoP shell
As the title says.
I have a Mad Matt CoP kit and I want to make the shell from leather. How do I measure for it, get the plates in there straight, etc, etc.
Any advice from people who've made their own CoPs would be awesome.

Probably a bit like fighting with a buckler only easier because it's so much bigger. Footwork, which just really means moving your feet in coordination with your brain and hands; create a cone of defense by extending the sheild arm; learning to fight around the sheild instead of behind it; put your ...

In my experience, gauntlets need to be padded properly and cover the thumb and tips of the fingers to prevent pain and injury to the hands. The thumb should be connected to the gauntlet by a rivet or other hard connector, not a leather strap to prevent the thumb from being hyperextended. It is also ...

I guess I just view a polearm as a cutting and piercing weapon rather than a mass weapon like a mace. The edges are marked as opposed to things like maces which can kill no matter what part of the head you use. doesn't mean I'm not going to smash you with it. heh..know whatcha mean...I love polearm...

I am an Ansteorran heretic. I HATE big sheilds. I hate using them and i hate fighting against them. However, it is what I have to face here. So, I have had to learn to use my feet to create openings and keep my defense tight until my shot appears. With lefties, I cant my sheild over to my right to c...

I do this crazy thing and build my swords to balance about 3-5 inches in front of the hilt like a real sword. I used a tip heavy sword for quite some time after recieving advice to do so. The difference is dramatic. Gives tremendous control over the sword, hits plenty hard assuming you use proper me...
