YOu are running into the same problem most early period folks deal with: how to look "right" and be SCA legal. You will have to make some compromises or decide you are willing to experience a lot of pain until your defense catches up with your ambitions. You can wear SCA minimums and carry a big scu...

There are depictions of knights at foot combat with a buckler mounted on the quillons of a bastard or long sword in the off hand and a broadsword in the other. It may be late 15th but at least it's in our period and a knightly weapon system as is spear and sword. It handles much like a madu, which i...

I don't think you're going to find any examples or representations of Greek gauntlets. If this is for SCA you'll just have to get some sort of stealth gauntlet. Anything you wear will be anachronistic and inauthentic.

Any particular period? Classical, Mycenean, Archaic?

Where the cross was worn depends upon time period and rank but upper left chest from the 2nd crusade on. The later the period the shorter the surcote, generally speaking. Avoid using movies as a reference. They get it very wrong most of the time. For instance in Kingdom of Heaven they had Guy de Lus...

I use plain black Kiwi to seal all my water hardened lather armor. I've never had a problem with it sealing but I see no reason why mink oil wouldn't work as well. The beeswax would work too. There was no Leather Sheen in the Middle Ages. :D

Your comments about the dangers of Nunchucks brought back a story from my youth. Years ago, A fellow I went to high school with, and myself, ended up working as guards at a local mall. WTS brigandine gorget

Nice, new brig gorget made by James River Armory. I'll take $40 plus shipping. Absolutely no problems, very comfortable. It won't fit under my mail drape so I'm getting a dog collar style gorget.
