Geoffrey, nice helm. What gage is it and how much do you want for it?

It is pretty sweet but I have mattmaus's Norman heading my way right the moment. Plus it's a little outside my buying power. Le sigh.

Sick as a dog the last five days. My workouts consisted of dragging myself to the kitchen for Gatorade and Nyquil then back to bed. I felt well enough last night to do a little slow work.

I'll be taking it easy the next few days.

My fever having finally gone away, I must amend my somewhat muddled comments on this thread. When I said unchanging, I meant more about any large changes in girth over time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was considered the height of tackiness to strike your opponent's horse in a tournament, yes? Vs. that being the first thing to do in a war footing. Thus a tournament horse might not wear as much armor? JB It was considered foul play to kill horses among the nobility....

I like my Revival's, Steve. Another person here in Bryn Gwlad got a pair with the vibram soles which peeled off during fighter practice on concrete tennis courts. Basically, what they do is glue a thin Cat's paw type of vibram over the leather soles the boots come with anyway. I opted not to get the...

Re: Leather Dye Question

Greetings, I have some leather here, and I was planning on making a scabbard for a sword, as well as some armor for my 4yo, but all of the the leather is an undyed/natural color. My question is this: how much dye would I need to dye this? Its just over 12 sq ft, and I can get dye in bottles of 118,...

The key to comfort is proper fit to your specific (and hopefully unchanging) measurements. Any decent armorer should be able to do that for you. Just remember cased greaves ain't cheap.

Piece o' crap, that helm. It doesn't even offer sizing options (not as far as I could see). There is also the ancient Roman concept of "patron and client", where the client would go to his patron for a favor or protection and then owe some service to the patron in exchange. Most of the ones that look one piece are in fact two halves welded together, with the weld being ground down so it looks to be of one piece construction.
