This is a common perception, perhaps so common that folks usually don't even try submitting simple stuff. I thought the same but mine sailed right through without a blip.

I'm hoping mine will do the same. :)

I bought a butted shirt last week. It arrived in about 3 days. It's too small so I have to return it but that's not their fault. I ordered the wrong size.

Good merchant, excellent service. I'll shop with him again.

So why does no one watch the fighting anymore? Well for your average Scadian who has been to several years worth of tourneys it is all too easy to forget how rare and awesome is an exhibition of arms is. They seem to think gold would be a better metal than argent (more visible on the battlefield) Perhaps or on sable is slightly more visible (see test results at m), but argent on sable gives you all the "metal on colour" contrast you need to register. That wasn't what I was referring to as anachronistic. My apologies, then. I took your earlier "ahem" to be something along the lines of a holier-than-thou, I'm-more-authentic-than-you tone, which I now clearly see was not intended. Again, my apologies. No worries, just my irreverent sense of humor ...

Really, the SCA should have a clergy rank system of some kind that always try’s to control, manipulate and undermine the power of the Kings and the chivalry. In my dream SCA, the knights are knights, the laurels follow the structure of medieval guild masters, and the pelicans are all clergy. Mult...

other folks with more complex and (ahem) anachronistic heraldry. Isn't that a bit unfair, when complex heraldry is perfectly period (ie., pre-17th C), and the CoA requirements for two clear differences between registered arms is forcing people towards more complex devices? - Martletman I don't see ...

Unfortunately, most people's concep...

Salut William,

Check this out: http://www.companyofoutremer.com/sir_bran/chopper2.gif

and http://www.companyofoutremer.com/sir_bran/chopper1.gif

I can't presently find them on the Company of Outremer site ( http://www.companyofoutremer.com/ ) but that's where I originally found them. I figure you can use these as guidelines and then make whatever mods you think necessary.

I hope this is of help.

Edit: I just did an image search for Midgard serpent and got a bunch of hits there, too.

wearing colors....(SCA)

Specifically ones heraldic colors. How compelled do folks feel to wear their heraldic colors in tournaments? Always, only for crown lists, when the mood strikes, etc? The reason I ask is that in period, it seems that knights/squires didn't necessarily always have surcotes, jupons, etc in their color...

rattan dagger construction tips?

I'm trying to make a rattan dagger but I want something other than a rondel. Any ideas how to make a ballock or baselard dagger or perhaps even a misericord?

Also thoughts on making a rattan dagger look right/nice would be great as well.

Thanks all,
