I'd disagree about the ability of wax to harden leather. And since we're starting to talk about wax vs. water i'll chime in. I've tried baking leather and found the process was more finicky than waxing, and offered armor that was less hard. Waxxing leather does a few things. 1. It brings the temp u...

I honestly see no reason to wax leather when there are better and safer methods available. I may be wrong but isn't wax one of the historical methods of hardening leather? Wax doesn't really harden the stuff. It is the process of getting the leather up to an internal temp of 167 degrees in the pres...

I believe than anything I do regarding fighting activates the part of my brain that assimilates and synthesizes that info.

I think about fighting, talk about fighting, watch vids on fighting and then I go a-fighting.

All of it makes me better.

The girdle book is very, very cool. The sort of thing that would make a good squiring or knighting, etc, etc, gift.

Imagine having one of these with you on the field when you fight a good fighter and teacher.

I like it a lot.

I want to face the peril. It's sort of why I put on my armour and fight people with sticks. If live steel were an option, I'd play that too. My armour is appropriate for it, because i arm myself as a proper man-at-arms should. A kidney belt is not armour. It's minimal sports safety equipment, design...

I think mid to late (edit) 13th century. Possibly earlier but no real evidence for it.

It will fedinitely help minimize damage to the velvet covering. YOu could also cover the plastic with pigskin or thin cowhide.
