How wet? I soaked a strap of leather overnight and it was kinda like a noodle... After soaking you have to let the leather case, that is, let it dry until it feels dry but cool to the touch. You cannot work floppy noodle leather. If you do a search here, you'll find several pages that explain the w...

Now I can't find them on his book, but if I remember, there are strength, reflexes, courage and at leat another. Audax, ok...

Other than trowing free crap on my feet what was the purpose of your comment? Are you one of those that think that could have ass slapped the black prince when he was 16? With the power of rattan and SCA? God, Signo, do you have to be such a fool? Really? Did I say anything at all about ass slappin...

I agree with the 'medical' definition of excessive; to include concussions not due to bad helmets. The difference between 'light' and 'good' is personal. Only you get to decide when you are bested. Now, there may be some social pressure applied if you are way outside the local norms... However, I s...

Could something like that be used in hand to hand combat in the same manner as a normal sword?

Ah, I see. In the acquisition comments, it mentioned that the eye holes were decorative and don't line up where they can be seen out of when wearing the helmet. WTF? Did I read that wrong and misunderstand? If not, then I'm missing something. Not impossible. It's kind of like in the SCA. You look a...

If it's appropriate to the harness, then, d'uh, one should be wearing them. Too many people eschew them because they are not required for SCA combat. Frankly, it looks stupid to not wear them if the harness requires them. And on those occasions that a shot goes low, they can save a lot of pain and i...
