Got some examples of sword cases, boxes, or bow cases? In turkish or eastern flavors, of course. I may just try something out. You might want to do a google search on "gorytos" to get some inspiration in the realm of bow cases. These are older than what you are thinking of, but I believe ...

What to do with leather

So I have got a nice sized piece of thick leather, approx 1/4 inch thick thru most of it. It's about 48 in. by 30 in. and do not really know I should make from it. If it helps, I am working on a late 15th century Turkish combat kit. I would imagine this lether may be put to good use for sole leather...

Re: Maille and plates cuise, what are they hung from?

I'm working on some maille and plates cuise for myself right now and I've noticed that a number of existent ones have a buckle right at the top center point. m that image shows it really well. So, am i correct in assuming that they would be hung from a belt of some sort? does anyone have any images...

I have thought about this topic for a while now. Being in Calontir there is always a small contingent of scirmishers for most battles as far as I can tell. I thought it would be neat to have a group/household to perform this role. A light cavalry w/o the horses on some of the major battles. Somethin...

Not to steal trade secrets, but I would like to ask you where you acquired those lovely handles. I believe they look like part of the draft horse tack.

I am preparing to make a sabre with the curved handle and resverse for the blade.

Pretty self explanatory. I'm thinking of going with a set from hjalmr but before any final deals are struck, I just figured I'd see if anyone had any other suggestions. Cheap and easy fix, for the knees at least. Some 12 dollar construction workers knee pads, they have adjustable velcro and hard plastic over padding, some my have to have a plastic or leather tab rivetted to the outside for complete protection. Most hardware stores carry them in stock. For the rest ...
