So here is the soft kit that I just got in. I really had none to speak of before. Chivalry is an ideal and it doesn't matter if you are talking; Medieval, Victorian, Modern, or SCA concepts shooting someone from afar has never been considered a chivalrous mode of engagement. It's foolish to argue that it is. So what about those whose persona is not of the ideal medieval European...

You guys take things far to personally and then decide to throw personal insults in return. I forgive you. I've done it too. I always do think it's funny that people get all hurt and insulted that I want people to do things in a more chivalric manner and in a way that is more fun for the entire gro...

Does not mean i and other like me will stop opposing it, or that we will stop hoping that people will put down these unchivalrous tools of murder and assassination and join the rest of us in heroic melee combat. Like 4 on one combat, death from behind and dead on the ground? . oh snap! Don't you ha...

I'm sure I can talk a few people into being my auth partner. I've been fighting Josh W for going on 10 years now, and a few others from the local area that have been at my authorizations before. Just a note. you can NOT fight someone you have fought before as your authorization for any system. Good...

Nope. I was raised in the environment. I know what's up. I know the changes that have occured and I find it unfortunate for what was always supposed to be a polite society where kids had a place where they could learn to be something better than what todays modern society lays out for them. There w...

I'm looking forward to making it to Lilies this year but I also just realized, I'm not authorized to fight......I've been authorized in the past multiple times, just always had a problem with paperwork getting lost (my fault on most of them) and just life getting in the way in general. Been fighting...

Tasha, wait 'til you see his civilian kit... I can't even wait for it, It should all be here before the second weekend of Lilies, I'll have to unveil it there. I've just really got to come up with some kind of footwear, anything has to be better than those tennis shoes. I may just have to try and m...

I've got a set of gaunts that are too small for me, they may work for you with or without some minor alterations. I'll take some measurements and see where they are at. They do have a larger cuff on them, they are of milanese design, I'd be willing to let them go at a decent price if they will work ...

Keep up the good work. Do you think you'll cover your shoes with leather or will you opt for a period style? I've got a few period styles of footwear I'm looking at, just have to find the room in my budget for them. Till then I've got a pair of hiking boots that look much less offensive than those ...

My very own before and after thread.
So I love seeing other folks before and afters. I thought I'd start up with my own. The before, I'm on the right in the burgandy brigandine. Most of this kit was either borrowed, or more than 10 years old. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v134/251/13/17004514/n17004514_34425557_4899.jpg ht...

It's been a while since I've been to the Lilies site, and well I think I killed the braincells of how it is set up. Where will the gathering be? It looks like I will be there for the 1st Saturday of Lilies as well, then back again on Thursday. I'd like to be able to meet as many AA'ers as possible a...

Still needs a little more work, I need to tweak my stainless bazubands and finish tailoring my maille so I can wear it. Somehow I've got to get me a decent pair of period boots. But it's much better than it used to be. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs552.snc3/30229_1405378289117_107217...

I've got another video up for my quest. This is Baron Wulfrick of Vatavia shot at the Tournament of the Horse and Falcon. I've been having trouble with my editing software and the video quality isn't as good as the other videos. I hope to replace this one soon with a better vid. http://www.youtube....

Unless you want to resell it... and that helmet would be harder to unload than a bascinet, that's for sure. And the maker would have the same problem trying to recover on the investment that you would. Maybe I am missing something. If someone buys a custom helm, and it doesn't fit, then why is it t...
