Josh W has some pics somewhere of similar ones I put together. I think it kind of shows the whole assembly from the pics he's taken. Maybe he'll chime in and put 'em up for us. I did this 'pac man' piece but left the back end elongated so that I could cold raise the protective flare and curl it over...

Thanks for the input! Im actually trying to avoid cutting it anymore if I can avoid it since I dont know how to weld new links in. I've got images of turkish chain shirts without the plates and most of the shirt will be covered by a turkish coat in any case. Its that area from the top of the sternu...

I'm planning on doing this with my shirt as well. I have seen examples of folks using laces all the way up and down the shirt, takes a bit of time to get in and out of but it work. Most of the front opening hauberks I've seen of the turkish persuasion have metal plates either integral or riveted on ...

That would be great. Thanks for the input already. I'm also curious about what other footwear I could get away with. Tall boots, ankle boots, I know we've discussed a slipper style shoe (can't remember the name at the moment). I'd like to see whatever footwear is available but to me economically for...

Here are a couple designs from a bit earlier, but things probably didn't change much, and you could give them toes that point up, as well. m Hmmmmmm......interesting. I'd like to actually find a reference for the boots in the pic if possible and I want to make sure I get 'em right if I'm going to s...

Turkish boots
Can anyone give me any idea's for last half of the 15th cent. Ottoman Turk footwear? Specifically boots. I've a few images but do not know any documentation on them. Before I post in the classifieds looking to get some I'd like to make sure they are appropriate. Can anyone tell me about these? Thanks

Period padding?15th cent. Ottoman
I've got a helm on order now, I can just pad it with blue foam but I'd rather not. Anyone know what padding I should use? Would a small 'turban' or headscarf that is removable from the helm be appropriate? I think it would be interesting to have my head covering be sepearate from the helm and could ...

I don't know about any evidence for scale armour in the 14th cent. I've got quite a few things on 15th though.....what part of the 14th cent are you looking to do? Some of the later examples are not that different from early 15th. This is an interesting pic of an eastern 14th cent helmet. Dunno any ...

Historically speaking, i really dig eastern europe and western asia. scale, maille and plates, lamellar, all that stuff really does it for me. for pure fun, i really love apocalypse armour. I define apocalypse armour as functional, realistic armour made from the kinds of stuff you would find in the...

I'm very interested in seeing what you are able to make of this. Just an idea from someone who is not an expert. Would it be better to use a piston or a lever action to flatten your rings. Think along the lines of ferriers nippers but with flat portions on the jaw part. Something big enough to be ha...

Josh will you ever be happy with those? I think I can count at least 3 different times that either you or I have tinkered with them. It may be prudent to make another pair instead of trying to fix the current ones if they don't feel/look right. BTW when the rest of my armour comes in I'm going to tr...

If done right, bazubands should do fine. They really need to be made custom for each person. I've made one set before, they were ugly but effective. I am currently having another set made for me by Jolly Knight. I will post a review on how they work when they get here. I know plenty of folks who use...

Ottoman Turk names.
I'm just about done getting together things I need for my new Ottoman persona. I will have everything shortly but a name. I've searched a bit on here and I do recall somewhere there was an online source for what I am looking for. Specifically the latter half of the 15th century. I've got armour on o...
