Ice Falcon is a funny guy (review)

So this weekend I decided I wanted to try a non-hilt-heavy sword, so I ordered a Baldar hilt from Ice Falcom Armory, figuring that if I like it I will eventually treat myself to a Ebonwolf aluminum cup hilt. The package arrived today, so I've got no complaints about shipping or communication. What I...

Re: Zoombang and flying

It's not really liquid...unless you make a point of talking to the airport staff about how great your new non-Newtonian fluid shirt is, they will probably assume it is foam. It seems to have a putty like consistency anyway.

But no, I don't know for sure.

I'll take the coat of plates, assuming shipping isn't as much as the up front cost. Could you get me a quote for shipping to ZIP 11793?

How much padding would fit for someone with a 23" head? We have a couple of new guys in that range.

Maybe contact Emorokian Arms here on the Archive. I think he usually has a bunch of entry-level helms in stock. I don't own any of their stuff.

Try icing it. I've noticed discomfort in that area of my arm if I throw a wrap incorrectly. Check your wrap technique.

Re: Aventail WITHOUT a gorget ? is it legal?

It's not only approved, it's preferred! I wear an aventail and no gorget, and I feel safe in my helm. The face of my helm comes down well past my chin and cuts off most angles - the rear and sides come down pretty far as well. However, I keep my old gorget in my armor kit for just in case a marshal ...

Russ,

What is so difficult about that shield shape? Am I correct in assuming that it has a concave shape with a lance cut-out near the "leading" corner? Or am I looking at the wrong one?

My old COP had mild steel plates for most of the torso and semi-rigid leather from the collar bone over the shoulder. This was all under the thin leather shell that held it together. The extra leather provided some protection for my collar bone(s) without getting in the way or being obvious.

Looking for Agmuntr Fjolmoor (Tyler Christopherson)

Would Tyler or someone who knows him (he's in CO) please contact me? He told me that the money order for some armor I sold him went in the mail on 2/24/11, but I haven't seen the money order yet, nor has he responded to a PM or e-mail.

No wraps involved. It was a strike with the foible and a strike with the forte.

As for chasing the pell around the yard, I've had a pell installed in the ground for several years - this new one is meant to go to our practices.

That's for posting that - interesting stuff. I remember finding the COP for a broom handle and baseball bat experimentally in my Mechanical Vibrations class, but I'd never researched the "sweet spot" any further than that.

Rattan Sword "Sweet Spot"

So, I was under the impression that the "sweet spot" for a sword is somewhere in the last 8" or so of the stick. Earlier today I was testing out my new portable pell, here are two pictures of it, before and after padding: http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s27/skywlker85/portablepell1...
