Congratulations again - that kind of work takes many many hours of dedication. Good job - it looks fantastic!

Balanced in the sense that other people disagree with you, and when you continue to pronounce that melee combat is a tournament, there needs to be balance by the voices that say it is not, so that new readers don't make the mistake of assuming that everyone thinks melee co...

<i>"Because the way the SCA fights tournaments isn't much like the way life-or-death combat was fought. Riveted 18 GA is very strong stuff. I've had no reports of any problems with our riveted 18GA.

"why isn't aren't there many people in full mail?" The short answer used to be this: For the protection maille gives, maille is too heavy for SCA combat. I say "used to be" because with the emergance of riveted maille the weights of maille garments are coming down to levels where people don't mind ...

We don't have a wide selection, but we are the only suppliers of ready-to-rivet wedge-riveted rings and rivets. Our rings are 3/8" ID, 18GA fully flattened to about 1/32" thick, and are pierced to accept the triangular "wedge" rivet. <img border="2" src="http://www.forth-armoury.com/Product_Catalog/...

Word of obvious caution here: If you are going to attempt cutting of any kind of pressure vessel, be absolutely certain all traces of any flammable gas or materials are out of it - and remove the valve assembly before you start. There are several companies now, such as Museum Replicas and many others that are carrying "riveted" maille imported from overseas. Current riveted hauberk commission update - pictures!

I have nearly finished the custom hauberk I am currently working on. I have attached the coif, and the face flap. All that remains is to tailor the flap a bit, and line it with deer skin. I will then add garters at the brow and wrists, with period-appropriate buckles. It will then be finished! http:...

Because in terms of SCA weapon effectiveness, they are only equally as effective as a sword but have about half th...

I tried WD-40 as a coating on our maille at first to keep it from rusting. It makes a gummy mess when it dries, and is difficult to remove.
