Yes, I'd agree entirely. If you are interetested in coats of plates THE book you need to get right now is the just-released reprint of Armour from the Battle of Wisby 1361 by B. Thordeman. Brian Price has re-published this 1929 classic. It is utterly a fantastic book.

Thanks Master Langdon! Actually, I just found a place that will send the coils to me in the width I require; all I'll have to do is cut them to length and punch a hole in either end. I'm going to connect the ends with a small loop of string (or leather, or yarn, or whatever) so they are adjustable t...

Looking for brass strip

Hi guys. I'm looking for a source for coils of brass strip sheet, for making Award of Arms circlets. Our kingdom is short on them, and I figured if I can get a spool of brass sheet 1/4" wide and, say, 1/32" thick I could crank out hundreds in a little bit of time. Does anyone know a source for such ...

I got mine, and it is fantastic. This is, quite simply, another "must have" armouring book. I have had a very poor photocopy for some 5 years now, and it is like reading it for the first time. The pictures, even for being made in 1929, are amazing. This book has an entire chapter on the histo...

Those look a lot like the K&K gaunts from overseas. I think articulating finger gauntlets, even ones that can't be used without a basket hilt (SCA combat) like your scale gaunts there would be a great addition, even for SCA combat. I mean, if you are going to wear a "half gauntlet" with no finger pr...
