AFAIK, there is no difference between the two, and it seems to be a German thing. The term "Zishagge", I have never heard uttered from any Germans mouth. The Pappenheimer guard in Wallensteins times was ultra famous in Germany, including being featured in a play about Wallenstein, so I suppose this ...

First of all, thanks everybody! I think I will go with Sir Alfreds Aventail since it is on hand and he is the gracious person he is. Nevertheless, I steel need another Aventail for someone in my group, so I will try to get some deal as well. Bascot, I have the greaves valued at around 125 Euro, here...

Spring Steel Norms
Hi, I got the impression that most armourers here who work in Spring Steel use what is called in the US 1050 Steel. Does anybody know what DIN or ISO norm this corresponds to? Lacking that, does anybody have a composition and property list? My steel suppliers just shrug helplessly when I ask for 105...

My steel supplier has taken a liking to me and I can usually get brass pieces for free or little money. I need to come into ...

Hi, I am looking for some stuff to round out my 14th Century SCA kit. 1 pair of splinted rerebraces and vambraces w/floating stainless elbow cop. I would ask for curved splints in either aluminum or stainless on the inside of the leather. 1 pair of legs with splinted cuisse and 3 or 5 piece knees in...

Some bad news on the Roman Armour Inquiry
Sorry guys,
the customer flaked out on me. He sounded very serious going into this project. I am sorry that I had you jumping through hoops on nothing. I hope the next time works out better.
Thanks

Fiberglass arrows wanted
Hi,
I am looking for Fiberglass arrows. Preffered with flights and nock, either with or without blunt. This is not for SCA, so no APD is crucially needed. Anybody have some left he does not want to use anymore or know a good inexpensive supplier?

Erich, I am still interested (flat out broke though, I just got shafted by a customer for 500 bucks, and I still am 350$ out for the bEverly shear bought from an Archiver that never arrived). I sold the Italian one to Pietro, though I may be perusaded to sell my own since I switched centuries. It has some slight surface rust but is in decent condition. Anybody who is interested pls. shoot me an email. Shipping in Europ is cheaper and faster, around 15 Euro and 3-5 days delivery.

Back point or Center point, which do you prefer for SCA combat? Why? I am trying to make up my mind as both would be within the scope of my persona.

Look I got an anvil ... now how to restore it and what to do
http://sebastian-kempkens.de/bilder/anvil.jpg I got a pic of it for my birthday, and I finally fot it this week. It is 100kg (220 pounds), two horns, two holes and rust. There is a stamp that says 1912, so assume it is somewhat older. I have lots of questions: Any advice on restoring it? What can I...

You are of course right in the historical meaning, and I should have made that clear, sorry for that. You will find no German alive today who will refer to a tank as "Panzerkampfwagen". Ever since its inception, tanks (armoured cavalry) have been called "Panzer", and nothing more, from the Tiger to ...
