Aethstan, on your point 1) I have to admit I have not though about that. I know they all get the email. 2 of the 4 are active, the other two semi. I am neither marshal nor authorising marshal, and we only have one in the shire. It feels like starting alone and from scratch. on your point 2): you kno...

How do I motivate my group to fight?

Here is the situation: About two years ago, before I joined the SCA, thze local barony broke up into two Shires, a new one and the downsized Barony. I live in the area covered by the new, incipient shire. It was a nasty breakup as far as I can tell, and there are still old resentments harbored by pa...

Freiman my friend, is that offer of crashing somewhere still good? I would like to come to a practice to learn and to fight, if I can afford it. I am a little disgusted with my local shire right now. Dieterick, I will not get involved in the rest of the discussion, but was wondering: Have you ever considered offering armour with steel cops instead of plastic ones? Since it is my fault, here is my advice: I would use the 1.5mm. !mm is too thin, sicne we are a) talknig unformed metal and b)areas hit pretty regularly. Depending on what size they are you can use a bolt cutter (Bolzenschneider) to cut them as well. Is it sheet steel or ready rods (Stangen oder Ble...

Anders,

you should really think hard about an electric throatless shear. You can get ones that cut 3 mm mild easily. On ebay Germany you get them for about 180-320 Euro depoending on what model you want. Usually 50 - 70 percent of price new.

Richard,

that is a very beautiful kit, I hope I may some day have a kit of the same quality.

Ist it possible to get some close up shots of the helmet with interchange and globose visor? How much did you pay for the helmet, I may be in the market for one soon.

Thanks
