Another term used for this style of surcoat is cyclas surcoat. But yeah, we generally just refer to them as a mullet.

Bran - Your kit appears to pass muster. Nothing wrong w/ it from what I can see. Swords I believe in the past max out at 50". Contact one of the captains in advance or just show up on the day. Both will work, but contacting one of the captains is your better bet in guaranteeing yourself a spot....

I believe an Eastern knight (name withheld to protect the innocent. to be fair, I've never witnessed him doing it) employees a buckler / dagger combo. The buckler & dagger are two separate items controlled w/ one hand.
