Spanish armour has some cool examples! Czech out the armour of Don Alvaro de Cabrera in this publication: There are some good examples of rigid neck defenses in this article. You can find images in this discussion. I do not think that this style of neck protection is appropriate for two reasons. Fi...

Did the armorer provide the linen gloves for your guantlets or did you?
If you did, where did you get them at?
Thanks!

This sounds like a wonderful way to pass an afternoon away, sadly I will not be able to make it.
Out of curiosity, why did you choose polehammer and axe? To me, they are very similar weapons.
I hope you have a most excellent time.

They are very often seen in eastern europe but also quite frequently in 'germanic' scenes. Scale aventail/camails are very common well into the 15th century for soldiers on foot in germanic contexts. Yep-this I remember. But what about earlier, do you recall a topfhelm with a scale avantail? Thanks!

Scale Avantial/Camail

O.K. my Google-Fu is weak. I am curious about the use of scale for aventail/camails. I would think that one would find it being used in central and eastern Europe into the 14th century. I am specifically curious about 13th century Baltic crusades, and holy land crusades. Any pointers towards iconogr...

Rowan, In regards to pell work, you need to plan your practice. In that you must try to practice movements that can happen in an engagement.
