In regards to my invitation to Josh Warren
You may remember that almost three years I posted an invitation and challenge to Josh in regards to La Prova Dura. I had invited him to come and be part of the event so that he could make an informed decision about it. My challenge was for him to accept the invitation, which Josh did. In the interve...

Norman Y. Mineta (San Jose) International Airport is the closest, aprox. 45 minutes from the event site. Monterey Airport is about 1 hour south(not a major airport). Then there are San Francisco and Oakland Interrnational Airports, aprox. 1.5 hours north

And so it begins- a Letter of Intent

The Canton of Battle Rock (Okinawa) is listed as dormant in the most recent issue of the newsletter for the Kingdom of the West. It lists baronyofarwest at yahoo dot com as the contact point. I would guess that you would be getting people from the greater Tokyo area. I would think that if you contac...

Vasilii, If you check the Society Mashals' hand book page 12 section I (sorry I could not cut and paste), you will find two subsections. The first states that shields will be engineered to minimize damage to rattan weapons. The second requires that projections more than 3/8 of inch be padded. Bosses...

Now I'm curious, does anyone currently use horse hair as a means of padding their liners? I have a liner with horse hair, made in the manner that Brian Price describes. It is working out so far. When I first installed it, it needed some time to conform to my head, which took about three practices. ...

Which war has this tourney?
Hi all,
I am trying to remember which war holds a baronial champions' tourney.
I thought that it might be Lillies, but I could not find anything on the website. I would appreciate any help, and would be especially grateful for links.
Thank you.

Nice helmet. I'd try and do something a little more period looking. It's where most WMA groups are pointed in my experience. Nice idea though! Actually, this looks lot like what Brian Price was working on for Schola St. George. I don not recall the specs for it, but the shape is almost dead on. Mat...

If you are seeking each other out, as a huntsman seeks to flush out his prey, perhaps you should look to Hubert, a knightly saint who saw a vision of the Cross while hunting (you can see a depiction of his vision on the label of Jaegermeister). Another worthy saint would be Maurice, who led a christ...

Sir Angus, I am unsure as to what you think these individuals are trying to represent. Do you think that the equipment is representative of a mounted tourney/joust and that what should be presented would be for an unmounted tourney? Or is it that these individuals wear what a mounted combatant of th...

what size is it? Medium does not really give a good idea what what size head it fits. While this discussion is a very good one and has had some excellent points made, I would like to point out a small error. However, no ...
