Just so folks know, I don't have any stake in editing this book -- the website has my name on it right now due to a template mix-up, but I wanted to clarify publically that I'm not involved in the editing of this fabulous book. The website page announcing ARS's promotion of the book should be fixed ...

I like the splicing option myself, but only because it would give me a chance to show off my splicing skills. When you look at the manuscripts that portray crows feet, you can certainly document the knot structure -- getting a clear proof for splicing is harder. Here's an example of the knotted vers...

Concussive wrap shots can be a mutha. The worst pain I ever had from fighting was such a shot to just above and behind my knee (unarmored at the time -- I spent a few hours adding more leather to my cuisses after that. ) The "bruise" I got stained my skin for six months after that... I don't think ...

Here are some late 14th century manuscript images that match up with the 1390s time stamp Sir Angus suggested for the Emprise A few of those images are from the early 15thc AFAIK, probably between 1405-1410, not late 14thc. I think the fashion shift is recognizably different from the 1390 time fram...

I'm thinking one pre lunch one post lunch. That's an interesting idea -- are there records of deeds done that way? Aluminum, titanium and plastic armors are not acceptable for the Emprise unless completely obscured like internal splints in a cuise or plates in a coat-of-plates. Maelgwyn, they've already ruled out even covered materials like that -- which is why I raised the stink about visible machine stitching...

With so few people taking orders for custom clothes the off the rack purchases are pretty much needed.
