I'm going for something like that
http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=72871
that way I can try sewing leather on the same piece too
except the shape will be rectangular and I dont think i have enough room for padding, the collar is already touching my carotids and i dont like that =/

Yeah, my thumb and index are.. darker than usual Altho I found that if i take a ball of cotton and put on a fish-hook shaped wire, my hands remain fresh and clean So i just got my piece out of the oven. Baked it 18 minutes at 180. I didnt put in a thermometer but I have a new oven that allows me to ...

delay before baking leather
I decided to work on my leather project today, a gorget I will bake harden. I got it wet until the bubbles stopped, waited about 40 minutes and died it. The dye isn't completely dry yet, but because of the time I have to leave for about 5 hours. Can I bake it when I come back or is it gonna be too l...

Several aspects of his style have changed over the years. He has refined his stance, his shot selection and his mental game. He has had shoulder surgery (rotator cuff I believe). He has switched from a strapped heater to a center-boss because of the shoulder injury. He is considering doing another ...

Brannos blocking technique
I saw this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzTZVsaKhrY
where duke Brannos advocates only a shoulder shrug to block. However I saw this video after, and you can see that he extends his hand forward to block on several occasions.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-2NPV5u92I
The latter video was made 8 years after the first one. Has his technique changed?

sewing hardened leather
I'm gonna try my hand at hardening leather and the first thing I'm gonna do is a gorget, seems simple enough. I want to sow a softer leather liner on the back of it.
I'm gonna be baking it then wax hardening it. DO i need to pre-punch holes in it before I do that or is there another technqiue?

removing parrafin from leather
I used parrafin on a piece of leather I have, just to make a test. I wanna test something else now, and the piece is otherwise very good. Is there any way to remove the parrafin from it?

Period pants for sale
I bought two pairs of these pants at Pennsic however because of the heat I never got to use them. I bought them for 29$/pair, selling them for 20$ each + shipping. They fit upto a 52inch waist, the waistband has an adjusting mechanism so you can make them smaller (fits my 32inch waist pretty good). ...

it's cow shoulder I think. I used strips of it to make a roman skirt-like thing which I now have no use for. I noticed that one of the strips has become extremely maleable, however others have not. It would make great edging (for my lamellar) unfortunately that one strip isn't enough to edge all I n...

In a helmet, what advantage does one method have over the other in attaching the top to the bottom? Specifically in the areas of durability, longevity and noise.
