delay before baking leather

I decided to work on my leather project today, a gorget I will bake harden. I got it wet until the bubbles stopped, waited about 40 minutes and died it. The dye isn't completely dry yet, but because of the time I have to leave for about 5 hours. Can I bake it when I come back or is it gonna be too l...

Several aspects of his style have changed over the years. He has refined his stance, his shot selection and his mental game. He has had shoulder surgery (rotator cuff I believe). He has switched from a strapped heater to a center-boss because of the shoulder injury. He is considering doing another ...

Brannos blocking technique

I saw this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzTZVsaKhrY

where duke Brannos advocates only a shoulder shrug to block. However I saw this video after, and you can see that he extends his hand forward to block on several occasions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-2NPV5u92I

The latter video was made 8 years after the first one. Has his technique changed?

I was told that Torvaldr uses a baking, waxing and baking again process to harden his stuff, I figured I'd try the same thing.
Tooling eh... How does that go exactly? I bought a swivel knife, do I just do the outline and then hammer whats in between?

sewing hardened leather

I'm gonna try my hand at hardening leather and the first thing I'm gonna do is a gorget, seems simple enough. I want to sow a softer leather liner on the back of it.
I'm gonna be baking it then wax hardening it. DO i need to pre-punch holes in it before I do that or is there another technqiue?

Period pants for sale

I bought two pairs of these pants at Pennsic however because of the heat I never got to use them. I bought them for 29$/pair, selling them for 20$ each + shipping. They fit upto a 52inch waist, the waistband has an adjusting mechanism so you can make them smaller (fits my 32inch waist pretty good). ...

It's based on a helmet my friend has, that was made by Tearlach the Profane with some modifications made to it that I think will improve efficiency (lobster tail, more peripheral vision, etc).
He does the phrygian cap thing.

In a helmet, what advantage does one method have over the other in attaching the top to the bottom? Specifically in the areas of durability, longevity and noise.
