you might want to narrow that down a little anyway there is almost a different head covering for every 20 years and 20 miles...... and I'm only half joking . What does the rest of your garb look like? Leather loincloth. That's it. Narrowing down.. hum.. something comfortable? :S I know there's stra...

period head cover

Hi- Im looking for something to cover my head at Pennsic. The actual period doesn't matter, as long as it's older than 1600's.
Ideally something I can make at home quick or buy cheap.

I have a very simple idea. All armorers should put their mark inside the helmet and a serial number. It's not very hard to tap one out. Then they send you a bill with that number on it. Problem solved.

I think the middle hole attached to the two holes next to the rounded part are what are used to hold the things together vertically, the extra 2 holes are for more horizontal stability. The 17 is nice but im afraid its too long and will hinder bending of the torso forward. I'm not sure what advantag...

Lamellar plate design

Hi- How does a plate's design affect the mobility of a full shirt? Specifically, I am looking at getting plate #8 from m extended .5 inches towards the bottom and add 2 horizontal holes to make it into a 9-hole pattern. However now I'm worried that the extra .5 inches will just overlap uselessly, hi...

best lamellar coat EVER

I came upon this - m This is the best lamellar i've ever seen. Does anyone have any information on what kind it could be? It looks much slimmer than the other kinds of lamellar, which often look big and boxy. It also seems to use a different lacing pattern than what i've seen, with only 2 holes in t...

It's for SCA use, most likely not gonna be hidden. The stainless is 20 gauge and the aluminum is 14 gauge, almost twice the thickness. Even then, the aluminum is much lighter than the stainless (using this table for comparison m). I'm not sure what kind of aluminum, i'd have to ask the Polar Bear gu...

The reason I don't want to use metal is because of the weight. Horsefriend mentionned that his coat weighted 20 pounds - from what i read aluminum is 8 pounds. That's 2.5 times more! I dont think im willing to sacrifice that much just for looks. Leather softens over time and gets moldy =/ When i sai...
