I'm confused. Eighty-three kingdoms? sca.org says only 19 kingdoms. Does the "83" include baronies, shires, cantons, principalities, etc.? I believe that was hyperbole. The idea of the SCA having "outgrown" its geographic structure is a fascinating one and deserves its own topic...

Seems to me that if both legs were injured during the battle, and later infected, turned gangrenous, and needed to be amputated, it would probably officially go down as having lost his legs in defense of the king.

It's solid, cheap, and will protect you on the field. Recently, someone here (I think) posted about having some customer service issues with them but that is the only time I've heard it. There are others in the same price range with much prettier and more period looking armor for sale. [edit to add]...

Tuomas, if you need something by Estrella and can cover it, you can do what I did. I got a pair of basketball shorts from Walmart. Sewed lines up them, cut the lining, and slid a piece of hose in. They'll get you by until you have something that can show.
