Sorry for snapping at a misunderstanding. I've actually seen several different etymologies, as well as one source that basically said, "we have no idea but here's a bunch of theories." I'll try to track that down.

Viking is a period word. It gets misused and over applied but is still period. My etymology conflicts with yours. (i was surprised to learn that 'wicca' is old english.. i mean, i guess Gardner had to steal the word from somewhere, i suppose.) Viking, n. Scandinavian pirate, 1807, vikingr; modern s...

Viking is a period word. It gets misused and over applied but is still period. In discussing the term "Viking" and its meaning, further evidence of the "Viking" as a merchant and a warrior come to light. "Viking" has come to connote only barbaric activities and piracy. ...

I'm guessing the list of suspects could be cut down to less than a handful from a myspace group or less than a dozen from elsewhere. Either way it wouldn't surprise me to find out that using an honorable frontal attack is not something they do. Best of luck tracking them down and putting an end to it.

It's not your cheapest option, but if it is HDPE, there are good glues, they just aren't very cheap. Loctite3030 , with 18+ hours cure time will get you 1980psi shear strength which ought to do OK. For just the cartridge, with no applicator, I found a site that was selling it for about $19. Loctite'...

I appreciate the thoughts, the street hockey armor is a good idea if it is large enough, she's fairly chesty. I'll have to look into it. I was more thinking about general appearance though. Assuming she goes more Migration Era, how should she look? She might well poopoo the whole idea and want to go...

My daughter's persona is non-specific time period Irish, not quite genericelt. It's about time to start working on her hardsuit kit. She told me last night that she wanted to do "Viking" which basically means "I want a spangen helm." Several of the helmets she liked were actually...

Give them a deadline to pay by, then offer the stuff up for sale at remaining balance + 50% of the deposit. Then you make a bit of extra money for the hassle and the money that you are owed, and get things moving again. Not to mention bargain prices on Torvaldr gear for some lucky archivers.

Just tell the livestock people that repeated small pricks with a sword is the only kosher way ...
