Starts tomorrow, there's still time. FWIW, Zippy's getting married so he might go a bit harder for the Queen as a wedding present tack.DarkApprentice wrote:I might put up odds later. My brain hurts right now.

I was looking at White Bat Armoury's site today. He's got a sugarloaf example with perforated plate and does some fairly pretty burgonets. I'm sure he can combine the two.

WTB Reasonably priced riveted maile
I like von Sussen's prices but have heard that the durability for SCA combat might be a bit lacking. Regardless, his stock sizes don't fit me and he has yet to answer my email regarding custom sizing. I've heard good things about Forth but the prices are steeper and according to the site, everything...

Expensive I don't doubt but fairly light according to their specs. 15#/m². I've been considering doing a trailered viking longhouse or townhouse a la Jorvik and was thinking about trying indoor/outdoor yellow fake grass carpet, painted to mute to see how it looked. I'm guessing fairly craptastic up...

Heh.. our Pennsic encampment is pretty recognizable by A) Tommaso's Florentine House, (with the barber pole on the front) and Tommaso's boat.. which is typically moored to the house. Makes a GREAT gate.. and tons of people stop to take photos.. then realize we have period tenty goodness all over th...

I'm having a tough time ranking them. Ed and Tighearnain both have a good shot, Walrick has been pretty hot lately, I wouldn't put money down against Duke Mathghamhain unless I was drunk. I'm calling Lord Zhigmun(Zippy) as the unbelted dark horse though. I think he would have to bring his A game and...

I saw three of them walk past me I think Saturday afternoon. While I don't understand the language, I do OK with tone. Going by the tone and the huge smiles, they were having a blast.Noe wrote:Anyone see a small group of Japanese guys wandering around the camps? I'm really hoping they had a good time.

It was higher than that actually, I don't remember for sure but I believe the total was around $3500. Also at Grand Court on Sunday, when it was announced, a shiny hatted knight (I appologize for not knowing who he was but I'm sure someone can fill it in) interrupted court as Countessa Mariana finis...

I'd recommend picking up a few good norse phrases at least. That would certainly add to the effect as well. I believe there may even be archivers that could help you with that. I bought a study book and cd for learning moden Icelandic. Now I just need to find the time to do it. Good call, I would h...

Crusader question
I'm trying to hunt this down but my Crusader Fu is weak at the moment. I'm trying to find out if any European Crusaders from really any of the crusades ever earned(or otherwise got) the title of Sheikh.
