Re: Sword Rules For West October Crown (x-post)

It doesn't make sense to me that it has anything to do with flat blows. Sounds to me like Their Majesties are trying to improve the appearance of the weapons but are allowing baskets to stay on the swords anyway for people without gauntlets.

That went with the sentence before it. If the basket counts as hand, not sword, then people do it.

Per the rules, a shield strapped to you and not actively used as a shield counts as armor and provides no additional protection over society presumed armor standards.

Re: Thrusting in tourney.

The point of my example is that if I lose to a thrust, my opponent will generally see that it was because I made a mistake they took advantage of, and once I up my game, then those holes aren't there, and the thrust was a hollow win. I don't think that I've ever won nor lost a fight that wasn't the...

Re: Legal use of a baskethilt

actively blocking a shot with the basket could fall into a grey area. I've heard people define it as target substitution. This depends on whether the basket is considered part of the sword or part of the hand. If it is part of the hand, many people routinely use target substitution. Also many people...

Re: Substitute rice milk for almond milk?

I think that soy milk might be a better choice. Rice milk is generally a lot thinner so might get you very different results in cooking. My best advice would be to do some experimentation.

Thrusting is part of the ruleset we play by. Don't like it, don't do it, but don't be a bitch when someone thrusts you in the face either.

Maybe people should concern themselves with their own carriage and not worry so much about their opponents. IMO, if you are so offended by their form of salute, or lack their of, they are probably beneath your honor to fight, and to preserve your honor you should leave the field instead of fighting ...

If you want a community to come out and play, you have to give them a reaason to, *especially* when the event has a rep for being CA unfriendly. I do not recall a single post to the various CA lists about WoW being "new and improved for CA's" last year, so if I was a CA (Oh wait, I am), I...
