Aidan beat me to it, but the shields Sir Kaz are making are well made and very durable. The ones he has made for his and others' use for been canvas covered so I'm sure you can work that out with him.

Here's a pic of Sir Zighmun rocking some. I think they are a pretty cool way to add to appearance, and show personal heraldry. I'm not sure how accurate they are for one of the religious orders. Also, from what I have read on them, they were in use for a fairly short period of time in the vary late ...

Aaron, Once again you are talking shit about something that you don't know about. You have decided that you dislike Estrella because of a few forums posts. You have decided that Gulf Wars is all that should be right with the SCA because of a few forum posts. That's all cool. After Gulf Wars, someone...

if you cannot tell where a body part (in this specific case, a knee) is located by just by looking at your opponent..you need to badly start practicing on a pell until you can do it in your sleep...basic anatomy dictates where the damn knee is at..you don't need a road map..you need practice at hit...

Especially when the attacker in question has a history of complaints filed for throwing low blows. I also EXPECT Marshals to warn fighters when they see ...

Oddly enough, in the West *intentionally* targeting the groin (not arm, btw) is expressly forbidden in the rules as violation of rule 6. Not according to the Marshal's Handbook. 16. It is considered discourteous and dangerous to intentionally target the groin area. If such blows are thrown repeated...

Customer service is awesome, shoes are awesome. I wear leather soles for general wear and fighting. If I am on ground, they don't bother my feet at all. On pavement, they get pretty hard on feet, so if you are on pavement a lot, insoles would definitely be a good idea.

It's 60 miles or so from the airport to the site in Florence. Some people probably rented cars, some people were picked up and transported. I'm not sure if the shuttle vans will drive to Florence or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.
