You should be able to find a decent anvil for about $1/pound or less. I dunno if I'd agree with that so much. Everything else is more expensive than it was last year, and the year before, and there's no reason anvils shouldn't be the same way. Especialy if you cinsider that the supply is dwindling....

& the surplus store does have some sheet inside the next to last quonset on the east side. not sure what gauge mild tho...... plus the have more 4130 which can be welded

update time....sorry to say not much headway...overtime this week has been insane...it will be 7day weeks for a while. If I can make it home before 10pm I will be in the shop wrapping metal.
