attach some swivel rings on 2 sides or make a bail that could be supported by a tripod& you have a fine start for some cooking utensils :wink:

Halv, just a random thought here, but have you considered getting with Jamie@ polarbearforge to produce& sell pre-cut kits for these?
set the price of the kits high enough to cover the process, & include a royalty for your work :idea: :wink:

Halvgrimr, did you do much hot work when fitting the panels together? do the panel edges taper, or is there a square edge? do we know if any sort o solder would be period? like a strip of tin, or brass to help fill in any surface irregularities?

heavy canvas is a good place to start, if you can afford it, find some hemp canvas of a heavy OZ weight. Take an awl to carefully make the holes& spread the fibers without cutting them.
