the above piece was a latten metal, the raised bean may have been embossed through chasing/repousse. it might be worth your time to look into this a bit.

if the lames are articulated on leathers, wouldn't they tend to settle down under their own weight?



on more thing, wouldn't this type of gorget be engaged& supported by a matching turner on the bottom of the helm preventing a gap from opening up?
