We've got cottonwoods that grow REAL tall, some Osage Orange, mulberry, elm, hack-berry, locust,& a few other feral species. plus I know of wells that produce lots of paraffin in charcoal black, to others that can have a 12X10' tank with 200 bbls of drip in em,& all you see is a slight green...

I have used nails in the past for rivets,& you are correct they can be quite hard, I have found laying them on a firebrick & heating them up to a dull red& letting cool to normalize makes a BIG difference.

I need to work on my torches a little. My Grandpa tought me how to soak cat tails in kerosene for night fishing torches. However as a rental torch they are crap. They come back all used up. I am working on a refillable fire cauldron iron torch head, with a wooden handle. Humm.... it make good flami...

That's what I was thinking, rivets are pretty much forever; it's not like they can be unscrewed, or un-smashed. IE if it's peened, it's permanent

Clang, when you wander over we can play with some authentic capped rivets I rudely removed from a piece a few years ago. Stephan, does this shotgun cripple on one end& kill on the other? for some reason my 590 seems to do that :shock: with the same loads, the perceived recoil is much harsher than my Winchester 120.

I just got the response asking about the material weight of the soulpad... Yes, its 285 gsm/2, that works out around 10oz. So, the soulpad is non-fire retardant 10oz Canvas? Or is it made of something "comparable' to 10oz canvas? it appears to be 100% cotton canvas, approx 10 oz, with no fire ...
