Fencing greatswords

Yep, you heard me. In response to interest, Alchem is going to produce a preliminary batch of six. Four are spoken for; two others need to be sold before the batch is made. Construction will be the full-tang sandwich construction, the same as their other weapons.

Contact me for details.

What movie battle could stand in for Poitiers?

Guys,

Need your help. Know of any good movie battle scenes that are both exciting and could stand in for Poitiers?

(2) Why are you knowingly doing something that hurts you and will negatively affect your quality of life? Contribute to the team using another weapons form, like spear.

For Hanwei longsword foils, I use the Revival/Westland Kevlar gloves. They're fine, but could use some more fingertip protection. Lacrosse gloves also work, but don't allow as good finger control. For anything heavier, I have Moore Brothers and Whonew gauntlets. A light glove is all you need in a co...

Or, you could get Christian Tobler's Fighting with the German Longsword and pollaxe DVD; it's much easier to follow his instructions than to try to deduce the technique from the original source.

These vary, but my classes teach hit-them-for-real historical fencing using appropriate safety equipment, and based on apply...
