I think I'd rather have a calender with just really nice armour. Chick calenders a dime a dozen, armour calenders, rare as hens teeth..I've NEVER seen one..

Sounds like a good idea Thomas! I've used my daughters hair scrunchies as bungi cords. I make hooks on each end out of coat hanger wire, and hook one end to the top of the lower cannon on the arm harness, run the cord down the inside of the cannon, then hook to the edge of the gauntlet cuff. I got them today! WOW, Perfect fit (they fit like a glove), and great articulation. They looked fantastic in the pics, but even better in person. My son saw them and said " They couldnt get any better then that" . They are fit for a King. Thanks Jiri, for all the hard work and attention to...

I see your point. On the other hand using techniques that would defeat the armour means you end up killing each other. There has to be some middle ground where its fairly safe , and yet fun. In SCA combat, i never aimed at an unarmoured target. That limited the strike zones on lightly armoured guys,...

I think it would be legal and protect pretty well. But it would be hot. And heavy, especially after being soaked with sweat. ymmv

I think heavy over light would be just fine. The outer helmet would absorb the blow. 18 gauge on the outside would be dented up pretty quickly however. Kind of a silly idea ..

With a liner like that I would rivet a leather band around the brow, then sew the bottom of the liner to the leather strip. If the liner gets funky, you can cut the stiches, remove it, wash it, and sew it back on. It could also be riveted directly to the helmet, but then is harder to remove.
