You might try Murphys Oil soap on the helmet liner if its leather.I'm not very familiar with Afrika corp helms, they may have a canvas liner? The cap should probably be dry cleaned. If there is a museum in your area, you might want to have them looked at by a curator before you do anything. Be careful...

I think i bought it in about 1985. I think it was an uncataloged item. I used to call them to see what they had, because when thier catalog came out ,the armour listed was usually sold! LOl. I'll check my records and see if I can find out more about a precise date or catalog no.I can look up the feed...

Great work as usual Wade, Your wife is very talented as well! Hey I noticed you bought an arm harness from a fellow in Australia on ebay awhile back. That piece was in my collection for about 13-14 years. Then I sold it on ebay to the australian about 3-4 years ago. I originally purchased it from Wi...

Wil, I like your thinking. I could probably get everthing I need for under $500. That I could afford (well maybe not,but where theres a will theres a way).Easier to do that than spend $1000 or so on a Forth Hauberk,(which I do need eventually, but can wait awhile)and the extra $$$ for cloths gear ec...

Thanks for all the info gentlemen. Now I just need to decide what to do. I'm leaning towards the Revival, simply because I can see exactly what I'll get. Now, that said, what I want to do when we get more fighters is use this rules set for a melee resurrection battle pitting the plate armoured "knights" against the "pagans". The knights will have more blows, but I think will lack the endurance of the pagans for the hard slog. It should be interesting...

Anyone try the Revival gambeson?

Has anyone purchased the gambeson from revival clothing? I need to get one soon,it looks pretty good, and the price seems ok at 259.00. I'd like it better if available in linen rather than cotton. Any comments? Thanks in advance...Otto

For $1200 bucks its a good deal. I wouldnt want to try and fight in it,But it would be a good decorator. Some of the modern spanish and Italian suits arnt even wearable, look like poot, and cost a heck of alot more. A really good repro of a harness of that type in spring would probably be $7,000+..Otto

True, a man without armour would be allowed on the battlefield in a pinch, but I dont think they would let them into the list. It would have been to dangerous, even with batons and rebated swords. Seems like the tourny developed after armour became better developed, even them there were serious injure...
