Well done Chris, Thanks for sharing. Ms. Reynolds should be very pleased. Mmmm Bergman and Reynolds, had a crush on both of those lovely ladies when I was a lad. Still do in fact. Ingrid Berman had to be one of the most gorgeous women in the world.

Re: armor stands

Hmmm, I like my stands to be secure to a base. I'd be afraid the thing would topple over with the weight of the armour. Also I wonder about the thickness of the fiberglass. Will it hold the heavy armour without cracking? It was made to display light weight clothing. It might just work, but I'd want ...

Re: Mild spring steel maintenance.

Thanks for the tip! I've always used Johnsons paste on everything, mild, spring and original antique pieces. It is a bit of a bear to buff out. I'll try Turtle wax on the spring bits next time.

Re: Mild spring steel maintenance.

Where a tendency to rust is concerned, mild and carbon spring (as opposed to stainless spring) are quite different from each other. It is best when talking about these things to be as specific as possible, if you want to get an accurate answer. Would you recomend a different anti rust treatment for...

I'm convinced! I also think the covers were used to keep the heat of the sun off the top of the head. Taking the place of the earlier mantles on great helms.

Ralph Snell should probably be mentioned too. He has a great eye for lines and a lot of talent. Sadly, he only does it part time as hes busy with his regular job. Doug Strong is a pretty fair part timer too! And a heck of a nice guy. We are pretty fortunate to live in these times. 30 years ago there...

My riveted flat ring shirt wieghs about 19 lbs. A good choice if you can afford one. Tell him if it's a hauberk or something shorter, and if it's 3XL or anything. I cant remember the size, but I think it was an X large. I'm 6' tall about 230 lb with a 48" chest. the shirt comes down mid thigh ...
