Owen - Recently on the History Channel they excavated some bones from some of the arenas and the Roman Arena and found that the bones belonged to women....
They tried to assert that these women were female Gladiators....while that could be poosible .....they did not prove their case beyod doubt.

there is a spray on coating used to coat wheel wells and underbodys.. it is sold in any Auto Parts store...

spray on ....let dry....do not wear helmet for at least 48 hrs afterwards..

Hey...I tried to get the marshals to pass my Combat Cabers...they said no...

two foam fake wood beams glued together and tipped with foam on each end... covered by brown cloth.

The Piano was a hoot...I saw pics of it.

ok my 2 cents are very similar to what has been said.. Tournaments are just that... announced as such... Melee's and other grand melee's are tournaments as well...just on a grander scale and more participants...so I agree... set rules...no archery etc. Pennsic...is a War..Estrella is a War..no matte...

The other position to take is that combat archery as we practice is so limited in comparison to the real thing (range, number of arrows that can be carried,armour requirements, etc.) that one CA arrow hitting a fighter is already the equivalen...

I think the biggest contention in some of the other threads is this... Is it tournament or is it war? wellby somes definition, because there are rules...it must be a tournament... ah ha but we are all just doing this on weekend and need rules to govern our combat so we can go back to work on Monday....
