well.....this 10 ft range is meaningless here.... as long as the arrow clears the bow they can shoot you. As far as the other issue goes....My wife was bored after being in the SCA for 15 years so she decided to do Combat Archery.....she had to get through a Primary Auth first and along the way foun...

As I said in the other thread... I dont beleive that there is some mystical level that you attain to hit hard. Any newbie can be trained to deliver a telling blow in short order... The issue is how hard I have to hit YOU in order to deliver a telling blow... This is the issue that needs to be addres...

I think the issue of calibration is better looked at by not saying "who hits harder"...but by saying "who TAKES harder" The force needed to deliver a telling blow is developed very early on in your training... anyone can deliver a telling blow...I dont know where people get the idea that it takes so...

I would work on conditioning, carido is a must. If your endurance is high then you can fight longer than your opponent...tire them out.
Also running through the movements of throwing shots in slow motion is extremely beneficial to developing good muscle memory...just make sure your form is right..

I have 19 inch calves and I wear a pair...

I cut them down the seam in the back about 6 inches and stitched in Elastic....
they fit great now.

I have to agree with Morgan here... Some months ago there was a tourney in which the 7 deadly sins were represented by 7 fighters of worth.... 1 was the Crown Prince, the other 6 were all Knights, and most of them Dukes... during the tourney I fought all 7 "sins" and lost to only the Crown Prince......
