I see many of your points Sir Rhys....and I agree that much of what you purpose would bring us closer to what a tourney was like......in the later periods. Every thing you are talkng about happened in a span of 200 years or so.....which leaves about 800 years worth of interest out in the cold. I, fo...

Richard, Thank you for sticking your neck out. It is a courageous man who knowingly sticks his hand into the fire of honesty, even though he knows that he will get burned. I hope that your fellow Chiv do not berate you for this noble act. Just to clear up a point. My wife, HRH, was in attendance...I...

Legend or not.... its inappropriate at least and just plain rude and flys in the face of everythng we claim we stand for. My wife, HRH, was sitting under the shade in the background next to HRM Lucan and saw the shield. She told me that even though we are no longer part of the Middle Kingdom she tho...

need cheap gauntlets
If any of you have been reading my thread about improving my Kingdoms list attire...I have a big job ahead of me. I will probably be spending around 3 to 5 thousand dollars on this reign alone...so money is tight. I am looking for one or two pairs of steel gauntlets that someone is willing to let go...

One of the big differences is Masters cannot make Knights. If a Master at Arms sits the throne and wants to Knight someone....a Knight must hold the sword because regardless of being King or not....only a Knight can make a Knight. I as a squire do not look at Masters and differently than Knights.......

Alas Prince Logan has made my life much more difficult by announcing last week that Atlantia was indeed fighting with the Midrealm. As to your story... the Order of the Chivalry in the SCA is the only order that IMHO *requires* things outside thscope of what is considered *normal*. The Pelican is all about service, service, service. So much service that they should be committed. You do not even have to have ever picked up a sword nor done any arts ...
