One other issue that was not taken into account was the fact that the shape of the armour was specificaly made to encourage glancing. I have always used a 5 gallon bucket and silica sand. Put some silica sand in the bucket with the chainmaille and seal the top. ....then roll it around for a while.

can we not do this again... there are some chinese weapons that are called short spears that are double ended and used one handed.....that is not a madu though.
